Role Overview
We're hiring an experienced Bookkeeper with strong Australian bookkeeping, payroll, and BAS experience to join our team. This is a full-time, work-from-home role.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of Australian clients using Xero, MYOB, and/or QuickBooks
Preparation and lodgement of BAS/IAS in line with ATO requirements
Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll - including PAYG withholding, superannuation, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting
Bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger maintenance
Preparing management reports and financial statements for review by senior accountants
Liaising with the Melbourne-based team on client queries, deadlines, and reporting requirements
Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records across all client files and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards
Experience & Skills Required
Minimum 3+ years' hands-on bookkeeping/payroll experience working specifically with Australian clients (mandatory — not general/local market bookkeeping)
Strong working knowledge of Xero, MYOB, and/or QuickBooks
Solid understanding of GST/BAS, PAYG, superannuation guarantee obligations, and STP
Experience with Australian payroll cycles, awards, and compliance requirements
High attention to detail and strong data accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to work independently, prioritise, and meet recurring deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
BAS Agent registration (or actively working towards it) is an advantage
