NAIS CORP is seeking an experienced, reliable Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant for a full-time permanent work-from-home role. You will support Australian clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, and recurring accounting workflows.
The role requires strong Australian bookkeeping knowledge, GST and BAS familiarity, and hands-on use of Xero, MYOB, Dext, and other accounting platforms. You will work independently, manage deadlines, and provide clear daily progress updates.
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant to join an Australian bookkeeping and BAS practice.
This is a full-time permanent work-from-home role supporting Australian clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and recurring accounting workflows.
The successful candidate will be technically capable, highly organised, dependable, and confident working independently. You will be responsible for completing recurring tasks accurately and within agreed deadlines, while maintaining clear communication with the team and clients.
This role is well suited to someone with strong Australian bookkeeping experience who understands GST and BAS requirements and is comfortable working across multiple accounting and workflow platforms.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Processing bookkeeping transactions accurately using Xero and MYOB Business
Managing and processing Dext invoices, receipts, and supporting documents
Performing bank, credit card, payroll clearing, and balance sheet reconciliations
Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Completing monthly, recurring, and ad hoc bookkeeping tasks within required deadlines
Maintaining workflow tasks, priorities, and outstanding items
Monitoring assigned tasks and ensuring work is completed by the required due dates
Recording time worked accurately and in real time
Providing clear and consistent daily progress updates
Identifying potential delays or issues early and escalating them appropriately
Following up on unfinished, outstanding, or delayed work
Investigating discrepancies and resolving bookkeeping issues where possible
Following documented processes and maintaining consistent work quality
Communicating professionally with internal team members and Australian clients when required
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 3 years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong hands-on experience with Xero
Strong hands-on experience with Dext
Competency in MYOB Business
Experience with Xbert, Karbon, or another accounting/workflow management system
Strong experience in Australian bookkeeping practices
Good understanding and practical application of Australian GST
Experience with Australian payroll processes
Strong reconciliation and discrepancy-investigation skills
Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Experience working with Australian clients or businesses
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Strong professional email-writing skills
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to consistently meet deadlines and performance expectations
