Job Description
The Bookkeeper II independently manages moderately complex client portfolios and operates with minimal oversight, and/or they may carry a higher client workload. This role demonstrates strong technical competence, sound professional judgment, and confident client communication.

- Operational: Accounting Manager
Core Responsibilities
Client Accounting & Delivery
- Independently manage simple to moderate-complexity and multi-entity client books
- Oversee higher transaction volumes and more complex AP/AR structures
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and clean ledgers
- Deliver financial statements on schedule without deadline pressure
Month-End Close & Technical Accounting
- Perform reconciliations, including multi-account and intercompany structures
- Execute adjusting entries, including new loans and entries provided by CPAs
- Anticipate and resolve discrepancies prior to review
- Maintain complete and organized accounts, even under peak workloads
- Maintain accurate information and publish financials in accounting software/portal (QBO, Double)
Client Service & Professionalism
- Serve as primary financial contact for assigned clients
- Explain month-over-month financial variances confidently
- Identify and elevate abnormal recurring expenses or irregularities, and bring awareness to the client
- Maintain professional composure in challenging client conversations
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3 - 6 years of progressive accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience with multi-entity or accrual-based accounting
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills

- Pre-Close: 100%
- On-Time Close: 100%
- Set a KPI for PreClose - 100% by 3rd business day?
- 100% financials either complete or prelim
- On time close is based on what we have control over
- Accuracy / Review Notes: <5% sustained
- Client Escalations: Occasional, appropriate
- Client Retention: 95%
- Oversight Required: Moderate to Low
