SMBC Group Philippines is seeking a Legal Officer to replace a resigning member and ensure continuous legal support for the Bank. The role involves identifying risks, giving legal counsel, reviewing contracts, and supporting the Legal Unit and DPO functions.

The ideal candidate holds Philippine Bar membership with at least four years of legal experience, including two years in corporate matters and financing transactions. Strong drafting and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a member of the Philippine Bar.
• At least four years of legal experience, including two years in corporate law.
• Experience with complex or large transactions, preferably financing.
• Knowledge of Philippine civil and corporate laws and banking/financial transactions.
• Strong drafting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal advice on day-to-day and ad hoc concerns for the Bank.
• Prepare and review contracts, including loan, lease, service, and treasury agreements.
• Assess legal risks and recommend risk-mitigation measures.
• Assist in operational, administrative matters and internal reporting.
• Coordinate with internal units, regional or head office teams, and external counsel.
• Monitor and report actual or potential disputes and litigation.
• Perform other legal work as assigned by Unit Heads or Management.
