Job summary

Manulife Financial Corporation in Manila seeks a Senior Finance Analyst to ensure balance sheet accuracy, improve reconciliation processes, and support financial reporting. You will collaborate with regional offices and business units to govern performance and drive efficiency across the substantiation lifecycle.

The role covers controllership, period-end close, financial reporting, GL/reconciliations, expense analysis, and management reporting, with a focus on process improvement and training

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is advantageous.
• 5+ years in accounting operations and/or financial reporting; insurance experience preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Experience in shared services/offshore teams is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities; solid accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel; PowerBI experience is an advantage.
• Self-starter, detail-oriented, owns accountability in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; project management skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate balance sheet reconciliations, including insurance-related accounts.
• Provide timely balance sheet substantiation commentary for reviews and decisions.
• Ensure IFRS17/GAAP compliance and alignment with company policy.
• Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies with Finance partners.
• Elevate unresolved issues to management and participate in governance meetings.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for reconciliation activities.
• Share best practices and drive efficiency improvements.
• Identify and implement reconciliation tools (Anaplan, Alteryx, PowerSuite, Workiva).
• Collaborate with regional offices and business units to improve processes.
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members.
• Contribute to regional priority projects and ad hoc initiatives.
