Job summary

Toplent is partnering with a client to hire a skilled Backend Developer for a remote full-time position. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, and collaborate with frontend teams.

You should be proficient in at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Java or Ruby), work with relational and NoSQL databases, and be familiar with RESTful APIs, containers, and cloud platforms. Remote work from anywhere.

Toplent helps companies scale faster by connecting them with exceptional remote professionals from SEA, LATAM, and South Africa. We are currently collaborating with a client who is seeking a skilled and reliable Backend Developer to join their team on a remote full-time basis.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Manage databases, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity and security
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews
• Ensure high performance, security, and responsiveness of applications
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby)
• Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, scalability, and performance optimization
• Previous experience as a backend developer or in a similar role is strongly preferred
