Job summary

STAFF X is seeking a dedicated full-time bookkeeper to support an Australian accounting practice from home in the Philippines. You will manage client files end-to-end, from reconciliations to payroll and BAS-ready work, operating independently with strong attention to accuracy.

The role requires deep MYOB AccountRight proficiency, a track record across reconciliations and ledgers, and the ability to work 9am–6pm Australian Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, from a quiet home workspace.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations across client files and ensure accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for client accounts, keeping ledgers current.
• Process and reconcile payroll for client businesses and liabilities.
• Maintain general ledger integrity through accurate transaction coding across portfolios.
• Reconcile GST, PAYG withholding, and payroll accounts for BAS readiness.
• Review client accounts for discrepancies and take corrective action where needed.

THE ROLE

You will manage a portfolio of client files end-to-end, handling everything from bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance through to payroll processing and BAS-ready account reconciliations. The scope is broad but precise — this practice expects clean files, accurate records, and a bookkeeper who can operate independently without needing their hand held. Your work directly underpins the financial reporting and compliance output that the practice delivers to its clients.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple client files, ensuring every transaction is accurately recorded and fully reconciled
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for client accounts, keeping ledgers current and accurate at all times
• Process and reconcile payroll for client businesses, including reconciliation of payroll accounts and associated liabilities
• Maintain general ledger integrity through accurate transaction coding and ongoing ledger maintenance across the full client portfolio
• Reconcile GST, PAYG withholding, and payroll accounts in preparation for BAS and tax work
• Review client accounts to identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, or errors, and take appropriate corrective action without escalating avoidable issues
• Maintain accurate, well‑organised client files and supporting documentation in line with the practice's standards

WHAT YOU BRING

• Genuine, hands‑on proficiency in MYOB AccountRight — not surface‑level familiarity, but the ability to open a client file and work independently from day one
• Demonstrated experience across bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, and GST and PAYG reconciliations
• Proven track record managing multiple client files simultaneously, prioritising effectively under real deadline pressure
• Experience working inside an Australian accounting or bookkeeping practice environment — this is treated as near-essential, not optional
• Ability to work 9am to 6pm Australian Eastern time, Monday to Friday, logging a full 7.5 to 8 productive hours per day within MPM
• Willingness to learn and operate MPM as the primary tool for time‑tracking and job management

This is a full work‑from‑home role. You will work from your own home office, and you must have a quiet, dedicated workspace and a reliable internet connection capable of supporting professional remote work.
