Associate Attorney - Litigation

Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd seeks an experienced in-house counsel to lead litigation and dispute management. You will oversee lawsuits, arbitral proceedings, and regulatory matters affecting the company and its subsidiaries, acting as a subject matter expert on litigation strategy.

You will coordinate with external counsel, conduct legal research, prepare pleadings and documents, and advise management on risk and mitigation. A Philippine Bar admission and several years in litigation are expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related experience, preferably in Litigation.
• Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor and Philippine Bar in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise lawsuits and arbitral proceedings involving the Company and its subsidiaries, directors, officers, executives, and employees in connection with the performance of their official functions and duties.
• Lead and provide legal standards, solutions, and recommendations as the litigation subject matter expert.
• Oversee civil, criminal, administrative, regulatory, and other assigned dispute-related matters.
• Formulate prosecution and defense strategies for lawsuits and dispute-related proceedings.
• Conduct dispute-risk assessments, assess legal exposure, and recommend risk-mitigation measures to management and business units.
• Gather, review, and assess evidence for litigation and investigations.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Prepare, review, and finalize pleadings, motions, memoranda, affidavits, and other legal documents.
• Prepare Company witnesses and coordinate documentary and testimonial evidence.
• Represent the Company in hearings, trials, conferences, mediation, arbitration, and proceedings before courts, quasi-judicial bodies, government agencies, and regulatory authorities.
• Liaise with judges, court personnel, prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, government bodies, and other authorities.
• Source, engage, and coordinate with external counsel; monitor outsourced matters for progress, performance, and alignment with Company objectives.
• Advise management and business units on litigation, dispute resolution, and legal-risk matters.
• Support dispute prevention and help address legal issues before escalation.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Legal Counsel or Head of the Dispute Resolution Management Center.
• ADMINISTRATIVE: Accountable for the budget, performance and results of the organization; conduct performance reviews and other personnel actions.

• Addresses issues with impact beyond own organization based on knowledge of related disciplines
