Job summary

PLDT is seeking an experienced litigation counsel to manage and supervise lawsuits and arbitral proceedings across its subsidiaries. The role requires leadership in developing strategies, reviewing evidence, and coordinating with external counsel.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of related litigation experience, a law degree, and a valid Philippine Bar membership. The position involves handling civil, criminal, administrative, and regulatory disputes with a proactive risk-management mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise lawsuits and arbitral proceedings involving the Company and its subsidiaries.
  • Lead litigation standards, solutions, and recommendations as the subject matter expert.
  • Oversee civil, criminal, administrative, regulatory, and other dispute matters.
  • Formulate prosecution and defense strategies for lawsuits and disputes.
  • Conduct dispute-risk assessments and recommend mitigations to management.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, memoranda, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Represent the Company in hearings, trials, conferences, mediation, arbitration and regulatory proceedings.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and monitor outsourced matters.

Duties and Reponsibilities
Functional
Litigation and Dispute Management
  • Manage and supervise lawsuits and arbitral proceedings involving the Company and its subsidiaries, directors, officers, executives, and employees in connection with the performance of their official functions and duties.
  • Lead and provide legal standards, solutions, and recommendations as the litigation subject matter expert.
  • Oversee civil, criminal, administrative, regulatory, and other assigned dispute-related matters.
Litigation Strategy and Risk Management
  • Formulate prosecution and defense strategies for lawsuits and disputerelated proceedings.
  • Conduct dispute-risk assessments, assess legal exposure, and recommend risk-mitigation measures to management and business units.
Evidence and Case Preparation
  • Gather, review, and assess evidence for litigation and investigations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize pleadings, motions, memoranda, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare Company witnesses and coordinate documentary and testimonial evidence.
Representation and Advocacy
  • Represent the Company in hearings, trials, conferences, mediation, arbitration, and proceedings before courts, quasi-judicial bodies, government agencies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Liaise with judges, court personnel, prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, government bodies, and other authorities.
External Counsel and Stakeholder Management
  • Source, engage, and coordinate with external counsel; monitor outsourced matters for progress, performance, and alignment with Company objectives.
  • Advise management and business units on litigation, dispute resolution,and legal-risk matters.
  • Support dispute prevention and help address legal issues before escalation.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Legal Counsel or Head of the Dispute Resolution Management Center.
ADMINISTRATIVE
  • Accountable for the budget, performance and results of the organization
  • Exercises management authority including setting employee performance objectives, recommending pay actions and conducting performance reviews, recruitment, discipline, termination and other personnel actions
  • Addresses issues with impact beyond own organization based on knowledge of related disciplines
