Job summary

Boot Barn is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our store leadership team. You will collaborate with the Store Manager to drive exceptional customer service, coach partners, and manage merchandising and store operations to achieve sales goals.

You will lead on-the-floor coaching, plan community outreach events, and ensure inventory integrity while upholding our values and standards across all product categories. This role emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead partners to foster a service & selling culture and exceed overall expectations to build long-standing customer relationships.
• Review goals with partners, providing consistent and timely coaching, actionable feedback, and recognition of excellence; lead on the sales floor during peak hours.
• Implement and maintain an environment of continuous learning and assist with partner training plans to improve store performance results across operational and merchandising areas.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to adapt to changing business needs and procedures; adjust store schedule as needed, implement operational directives, train staff on new policies, and communicate with District/Region/Support Center partners.
• Assess and communicate localized customers’ needs to Store Manager.
• Plan and execute volume-driving events that involve outreach to the local community/market.
• Lead and coach associates in building customer engagement through the Boot Barn Credit Card and Loyalty Programs; drive individual and team goals.
• Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, assortments, signing and presentations to meet customer needs while following company visual guidelines.
• Accountable for markdown compliance and execution; ensure product receipts are processed accurately and timely.
• Partner with Store Manager on inventory shrink plans and lead store team in this strategy.
• Maintain knowledge across product categories (western boots, work boots, denim, hats) and coach teams accordingly.
• Complete opening and closing procedures to company standards and follow Time and Attendance policy.
• Adhere to local, federal and state laws and company policies; uphold professionalism and teamwork.
• Additional duties as assigned by District Manager or Support Center partners.
