The Assistant Branch Manager – Store Operations supports the Branch Manager in overseeing day-to-day retail branch operations, driving business growth, and managing staff. This role acts as a primary operational leader on the floor, ensuring smooth branch administration, inventory accuracy, loss prevention, and high-quality customer service delivery across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily opening and closing routines, ensuring physical branch security, alarm checks, and cash vault protocols.
- Supervise real-time sales floor activities, maintaining high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and visual display compliance.
- Serve as the acting Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the Branch Manager, holding operational accountability for branch performance.
- Manage end-to-end inventory control, including stock receiving, cycle counting, stock transfer audits, and shrinkage reduction strategies.
- Supervise point-of-sale (POS) operations, daily cash drawer reconciliations, bank deposits, and transaction audit trails.
- Ensure strict adherence to company operational guidelines, health and safety standards, and local labor and commercial regulations.
- Lead, train, and mentor floor supervisors, cashiers, and store associates on operational workflows and customer service standards.
- Assist in drafting work schedules to optimize labor deployment during peak traffic hours.
- Resolve escalated customer grievances, handle complex returns/exchanges, and maintain high customer retention rates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years of supervisory experience in retail store operations or branch administration.
- Proficiency in POS platforms, retail inventory systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Strong leadership, operational problem-solving, cash management, and conflict resolution skills.
