Job summary

DP World in the Philippines seeks a Crane Maintenance Manager to oversee the QC and RTG crane departments, driving shift management, reliability, and safe operations. Responsibilities

• Act as manager for QC and RTG maintenance/repair activities.
• Plan and control operating budget for equipment and activities.
• Ensure timely corrective actions from condition monitoring and defects.
• Coordinate with Planning and Materials Management for spare parts availability.
• Delegate work orders, assign manpower, monitor execution including contractors.
• Coordinate with Planning on planned work orders and ensure preventive maintenance quality.
• Ensure information is captured in Mainpac upon job completion.
• Provide technical advice and assist when required.
• Manage manpower through scheduling and leave planning.
• Evaluate defects to prioritize risk of equipment failure.
• Prioritize high-risk defects with Planning.
• Ensure manpower allocation for critical jobs.
• Prepare requisitions for spare parts with specs from manuals.
• Assist in standardizing stocking item naming conventions.

About the role

This position is with one of DP World's entities in the Philippines and will be employed under our Ports and Terminals business pillar.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Crane department, with a strong focus on effective shift management and operational excellence. The role will ensure that all departmental activities are aligned with the highest standards of safety, equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

A key responsibility will be to ensure the Quay Cranes (QCs) and Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTGs) are maintained at optimal availability, while driving efficient troubleshooting and minimizing repair turnaround time and equipment downtime.

Key Accountabilities

• Acts as manager for the QC and RTG related maintenance/repair activities and sustaining activities.
• Plan and Control operating budget related to equipment and activities within his control to support maintenance priorities and other related projects.
• Ensure corrective actions resulting from condition-based monitoring/predictive maintenance and other reported defects are accomplished on a timely manner.
• Ensure availability of inventory spare parts and required workshop tools through proper coordination with Engineering Planning and Control and Materials Management departments.
• Delegates work orders to, Supervisors, assigns manpower, and monitors the execution and completion of these work orders, including contractor-related activities.
• Coordinates with Planning department on the planned work orders intended for the shift and ensures compliance and quality of preventive maintenance conducted on equipment
• Reviews completed work orders and ensures that all necessary information (i.e. nature and cause of breakdown, manpower deployed for the specific task, duration of repair, and feedback other relevant information) are encoded on Mainpac
• Provides technical advice and assistance whenever required.
• Manages manpower availability through proper planning and scheduling of leaves.
• Evaluates all pending defects on equipment and identifies risk priority number through evaluation of severity and likelihood of equipment failure.
• Coordinates with Planning department to prioritize high risk and critical defects which need to be addressed.
• Ensures appropriate manpower allocation to complete critical jobs as scheduled.
• Prepares requisition of all important spare parts and provides technical specifications as provided from the equipment manual.
• Assists in driving stocking item naming convention standardization.

Qualities, Skills and Experience

• Licensed Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• With 5-year work experience in Ship to Shore (STS) and Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) Cranes, Reliability, Equipment maintenance and repair
• Knowledgeable in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), motors, drives and spare management
• With leadership skills
• With valid driver's License
