Purpose of the Role
To drive business growth in the domestic market by developing new customers, strengthening strategic accounts, and expanding MEI’s presence across Commercial Vehicle OEMs, Trailer Manufacturers/Builders, Fleet Operators, and related automotive segments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Sales
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across India.
- Drive business with Commercial Vehicle OEMs, Trailer OEMs, Trailer Manufacturers/Builders, Fleet Operators, and Tier-1/Tier-2 customers.
- Develop market penetration strategies for MEI’s braking systems and related products.
- Build and manage the sales pipeline to achieve business growth targets.
2. Customer & Account Management
- Build strong relationships with key customer decision-makers.
- Manage strategic accounts and develop long-term business opportunities.
- Conduct regular customer visits and ensure effective follow-up on business requirements.
3. Market Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, competitors, customer developments, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify new applications, customers, and market segments.
- Prepare sales forecasts, market assessments, and business plans.
4. Commercial Management
- Prepare quotations, proposals, presentations, and commercial offers.
- Lead pricing negotiations and commercial discussions.
- Support contract finalization and commercial closure.
5. New Product & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchase, and Finance for new business projects.
- Support customer-specific product development, trials, validation, and commercialization.
- Coordinate customer audits and technical/commercial requirements.
6. Business Reporting
- Maintain CRM and business pipeline updates.
- Track customer visits, opportunities, quotations, and order status.
- Present business reviews and growth opportunities to management.
Educational Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Automobile preferred)
Preferred
- MBA in Marketing / Business Management
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Key Account Management.
- Experience in Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, Trailer, Engineering Components, or Tier-1/Tier-2 industry.
- Exposure to Commercial Vehicle OEMs, Trailer OEMs/Builders, Fleet Operators, or automotive customers.
- Experience in braking systems, axle systems, suspension systems, or commercial vehicle components will be preferred.
