Your Employee Offshore ( Yempo ) Inc. is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join a mid-shift role with the option to work from home or in the office.
You’ll support the Finance Director, ensure strong financial controls, and help produce accurate financial information for key clients in a dynamic, open-plan environment. The role focuses on month-end, cashflow management, transactional finance oversight, and system integrity across Sage and related platforms.

The Assistant Financial Controller supports the Finance Director with the effective day to day running of the finance function to the client. This is a hands-on role focused on supporting the production of accurate financial information, maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring key finance processes are completed accurately and on time.
Support the monthly management accounts process
Prepare monthly journals and supporting schedules
Complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations
Review ledger balances and investigate discrepancies
Support the Finance Director with month-end analysis
Assist with investigating variances against budget, forecast and prior year
Ensure assigned month-end tasks are completed within the agreed timetable
Support the day-to-day financial control environment
Ensure bank reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
Maintain supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts
Follow agreed finance controls, procedures and checklists
Identify control issues and elevate them to the Finance Director
Support preparation of information required for the year-end audit
Maintain and update the rolling 13-week cashflow forecast
Investigate and explain significant variances
Monitor key working capital areas, including:
Debtors
Creditors
Stock
Highlight emerging cashflow or working capital concerns to the Finance Director
Support and review the effective operation of transactional finance activities,
including:
Customer invoices and rebates
Customer statements
Cash allocations
Supporting information for credit control
Processing customer invoices through customer portals, including Amazon and Robert Dyas
Bank reconciliations
Supplier payments
Purchase ledger
Expenses and company cards
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and control
Own finance system integrity (Sage, OrderWise and related systems)
Maintain good-quality financial data
Identify and implement process improvements
Work with internal teams to improve data accuracy and flow
Support development of reporting aligned with business needs
Act as first point of contact for finance queries
Support non-finance teams with clear, accurate information
Build strong working relationships across the business
Support the Finance Director with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects.
Comply with the Organization's Information Security Management System (ISMS), including all applicable information security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Good Excel skills, including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and basic data analysis.
Experience using Sage.
Good attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
Ability to work independently on assigned responsibilities while knowing when to elevate issues to the Finance Director.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
