Job summary

BuiltaMart is seeking a Finance Manager in the Philippines to oversee daily finance operations, focusing on financial reporting and tax compliance. You will ensure the company's books are accurate in real time and provide data for cross-functional teams to inform decisions.

You will lead a team, maintain compliance with government requirements, and drive improvements in accounting processes. On-site in multiple locations with a 5-day work week, some WFH options may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Finance or Accounting with a bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in Finance; retail experience is a plus.
• CPA certification is an advantage but not required.
• Strong analytical, data-driven mindset with good communication.
• Detail-oriented and capable of timely, accurate reporting.
• Proficient in MS Office and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Review financial statements with disclosures and ad-hoc requests.
• Prepare complex reporting when needed.
• Lead and manage team deliverables for timely outputs.
• Ensure accurate daily accounting records and coordinate with outsourced team.
• Collaborate with across-functional teams to ensure correct financials.
• Oversee statutory reporting checks on sales, AP/AR, and month-end processes.
• Lead year-end finance requirements including Audited Financial Statements.
• Maintain knowledge of bank reconciliation, GL, trial balances, and tax compliance.

Job description

As Finance Manager, you will oversee daily finance operations, focusing on Financial Reporting and Tax Compliance. You will be responsible for ensuring the company's books and recorded transactions are accurate and up to date in real time to generate reports and provide data that different teams will need.

What You Will Do

• 1. Responsible for the review of Financial Statements with Disclosures and other ad-hoc service requests
• 2. Responsible for the preparation of complex reporting requirements, when necessary
• 3. Manages and ensures the timely and accurate deliverables of the members of the handled team
• 4. Ensure daily accounting records of the company as a whole is accurate and timely and maintain constant communication with the company’s outsourced accounting team to deliver timely government-related requirements.
• 5. Work closely with cross-functional teams and business units to ensure proper recording of the organization's financial records, ensuring that the company’s financials are correctly reflected and accurate to aid high-level management decisions.
• 6. Oversee and assist when necessary in developing, implementing, and maintaining proper financial and accounting protocols.
• 7. Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• 8. Analyze financial data and provide a summary of the financial situation.
• 9. Examine accounting systems and practices and make recommendations for changes.
• 10. Oversee and assist in managing statutory reporting by doing the required checks on the company’s accounting system:
  • Cross-checking whether sales transactions are properly logged from the respective sales channels into the accounting system
  • Assisting in ensuring purchase invoices match the accounting system’s accounts payable & are paid on time
  • Assisted in month-end processes and period roll procedures and collaborated with the finance department in analyzing financial data for weekly meetings.
• 11. Lead the year-end finance requirements such as submission of Audited Financial Statements.
• 12. Knowledgeable in the following:
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • General Ledger and Trial Balances
  • Preparation of schedules needed by outside parties (i.e auditors)
  • Tax Compliances

What We Look For

• Graduate of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or any related field.
• With at least 5 years of experience working in Finance; experience working in the Retail Industry is a plus.
• Certification and Licenses (i.e., CPA) are an advantage but not a requirement.
• Strong analytical skills, is data-driven, and has strong communication skills.
• Keen to detail and can provide accurate and timely reports.
• Has experience in utilizing and navigating software tools such as MS Office and other related software tools.
• Willing to work on-site in multiple locations
• 5-day working schedule, flexible time arrangements.
