Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking an Asset Accounting professional to manage and maintain standards across multiple entities. The role supports the GBSC Deployment Team, conducts end-user trainings, and executes asset-related month-end activities.

Responsibilities include capitalization, asset disposals, CapEx project handling, system maintenance, and collaboration with audit teams. Strong analytical skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Fluent English (reading, writing and speaking).
• 2–3 years of professional accounting experience in a large enterprise or public auditing firm.
• Proficient in MS-Office; familiarity with SAP FI-AA, PS, IM.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Teamwork and collaboration spirit.
• Project-management related skills.
• Good analytical and conceptual thinking.

Responsibilities

• Execute Asset Accounting processes across served entities and ensure compliance.
• Capitalize, dispose and modify assets; manage asset retirement by scrapping.
• Plan, perform and monitor month-end closing procedures (depreciation runs, sub-ledger to GL).
• Handle CapEx projects through investment life cycle (approval, structuring, opening, maintenance, closing).
• Provide requirements for system development and perform system checks for accuracy.
• Maintain general system settings (asset classes, capitalization rules).
• Supervise day-to-day asset accounting activities and check for posting accuracy.
• Provide first level support for Asset Accounting topics to subledger owners.
• Conduct periodic checks (closed cost center, assets not entered, assets under construction).
• Document corrective actions and archive issues; support audits.
• Support integration of OPUs and functions into GBSC; contribute to process enhancements.
