Provide L2 support for IBM AS/400 / IBM i systems and applications
Monitor system health, jobs, subsystems, message queues, and batch schedules
Perform incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution
Manage user profiles, object authorities, and security access
Review logs, investigate errors, and resolve job or program failures
Monitor interfaces, file transfers (FTP/SFTP), MQ, and data flows
Perform backup and restore activities (BRMS and native backups)
Support change implementations and post-incident documentation
Coordinate with L1, L3, and external vendors
Participate in on-call or shift-based production support
Qualifications:
At least 1 to 2 years of hands‑on experience with IBM AS/400 / IBM i and OS/400
Strong knowledge of job control, subsystems, job queues, and message queues
Experience with spool file management, performance monitoring, and licensing
L2 application support experience in production environments
Basic knowledge of RPG/RPGLE and CL/CLLE (COBOL is a plus)
DB2 for i fundamentals and basic SQL query skills
Experience with schedulers (Control‑M, Tivoli) and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira)
Understanding of batch vs online processing and Dev/UAT/Prod environments
Knowledgeable with MIMIX
