Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an experienced API Designer to design, model, and govern banking APIs across channels and ecosystems. You will translate business requirements into reusable, secure API specifications and lead API design quality in line with enterprise standards.

You will define resources, specifications, and validation rules, and collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and QA to ensure scalable, observable APIs that support API-as-a-Product initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in API design, solution design, or integration development.
• Experience in Financial Services industry.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
• Experience delivering integration and API initiatives across enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and API delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Design RESTful APIs and integration services using API-first and contract-first methodologies.
• Create and maintain API specifications using OpenAPI standards.
• Define API resources, operations, requests/responses and error handling.Ensure designs are scalable, reusable, and aligned with standards.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, Architects, and QA to refine requirements and test criteria.
• Support developers during implementation and provide clarification on API contracts and design decisions.
