Job summary

Capgemini Philippines Corp. is seeking a Banking API Business Analyst to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for API and integration initiatives within a Banking API Delivery Squad.

The role collaborates with stakeholders, Product Owners, API designers, Architects, and development teams to translate banking business needs into actionable requirements, API specifications, process models, and delivery artifacts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, CS, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in Business Analysis, with API/integration exposure.
• Experience in Agile delivery and banking/financial services.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for API initiatives.
• Define API use cases, data requirements, and service interactions.
• Produce BRD, FRS, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and QA activities.
• Model processes with BPMN/UML and map data across systems.

YOUR PROFILE

The Banking API Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating business requirements for API and integration initiatives within a Banking API Delivery Squad. The role collaborates closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, API Designers, Architects, and development teams to translate banking business needs into actionable requirements, API specifications, process models, and delivery artifacts.

Business & Requirements Analysis

• Engage stakeholders to understand business goals, operational challenges, and digital transformation initiatives

• Conduct requirements elicitation workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions

• Analyze current-state and future-state business processes

• Identify business capabilities, integration requirements, and API opportunities

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional requirements

• Ensure traceability from business objectives through to implemented API solutions.

API Requirements Definition

• Define business requirements for APIs, integrations, and digital services

• Document API use cases, business rules, service interactions, and data requirements

• Collaborate with API Designers and Architects to define API products and service capabilities

• Assist in identifying reusable API services across business domains

• Support the definition of API consumption patterns, users, and channel requirements.

Agile Delivery Support

• Create and maintain:
• Epics
• Features
• User Stories
• Acceptance Criteria
• Backlog Items
• Support Product Owners in backlog prioritization and refinement activities
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives
• Ensure requirements are sufficiently detailed and ready for development

Process Modeling & Documentation

• Produce business and functional documentation, including:
• Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
• Functional Specifications
• User Stories
• Process Flows
• Data Mapping Documents
• Integration Specifications

• Develop process models using BPMN, UML, or equivalent methodologies
• Document end-to-end business workflows and customer journeys

Data Analysis & Mapping

• Analyze source and target systems involved in API integrations.
• Define business data requirements and mapping rules.
• Work with technical teams to clarify data transformations and validations.
• Ensure consistency and quality of business data exchanged through APIs.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Facilitate workshops and requirement validation sessions.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment across teams.
• Communicate project impacts, dependencies, risks, and decisions effectively.

Testing & Validation

• Review solution designs and API specifications to ensure business requirements are addressed.
• ·Support SIT, UAT, and production readiness activities.
• Develop business test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Validate delivered functionality against documented requirements.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure requirements comply with banking policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation repositories and audit trails.
• Support governance reviews and solution approvals.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices.

YOUR ROLE

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience.
• 3+ years supporting API, integration, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Experience within banking or financial services organizations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation experience.
