Job summary

Capgemini Philippines Corp. is seeking an experienced API Designer to design, model, and govern APIs for digital banking capabilities. You will translate banking requirements into reusable, secure API specifications, working with analysts, architects, and teams to deliver scalable RESTful services.

The role emphasizes API-first design, OpenAPI standards, and lifecycle management within an Agile environment, across multi-channel platforms and partner ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of API design, solution design, or integration development.
• Experience working in Financial Services industry.
• Experience delivering integration and API initiatives across enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and API delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements to identify API capabilities and service interactions.
• Lead the end-to-end technical design of APIs and integration solutions.
• Design RESTful APIs and integration services using API-first and contract-first methodologies.
• Create and maintain API specifications using OpenAPI (Swagger) standards.
• Define API resources, operations, request/response models, validation rules, and error handling frameworks.
• Ensure API designs are scalable, reusable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Develop complete API design artifacts and technical specifications.
• Produce OpenAPI definitions, sequence flows, mapping documents, and integration specifications.
• Document security, performance, and non-functional requirements.
• Maintain API documentation and ensure alignment with API catalog and repository standards.

YOUR PROFILE

The API Designer is responsible for designing, modeling, and governing business APIs that enable digital banking capabilities across channels, products, and partner ecosystems. The role works closely with Business Analysts, Domain Architects, Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, and development teams to translate banking business requirements into reusable, secure, and standards-compliant API specifications.

API Analysis and Design

• Analyze business and functional requirements to identify API capabilities and service interactions.

• Lead the end-to-end technical design of APIs and integration solutions.

• Design RESTful APIs and integration services using API-first and contract-first methodologies.

• Create and maintain API specifications using OpenAPI (Swagger) standards.
