Job summary

MSCI Asia Pacific Private Markets Research & Development team supports the Real Estate product line across the region, with team members in multiple markets. Based in Shanghai, the role ensures service quality across time zones while strengthening data coverage for China, Japan, and Korea through local partnerships and language skills.

You will support client meetings with bespoke analyses, respond to complex data requests, and assist senior specialists to free time for innovation and client

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills for interpreting private real estate market data.
• Experience in real estate research or investment analysis is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Mandarin/Japanese/Korean beneficial.
• Comfort using AI-assisted tools while ensuring human review when needed.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate across time zones with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation for client meetings and strategic engagements with bespoke analysis and materials.
• Respond to ad hoc client requests requiring interpretation of incomplete datasets, escalating where needed.
• Assist senior specialists with research and analytical tasks to enable product development.
• Provide APAC coverage during travel or leave to maintain service continuity.
• Support data acquisition activities and use language capabilities across China, Japan and Korea.
• Use AI-assisted tools for drafting, data formatting, summarisation and coding with accuracy ensured.
• Contribute to MSCI's thought leadership through quarterly reports and ad hoc analyses.
