Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking a senior AP advisory lead to drive delivery of advisory and managed services for a portfolio of clients. You will evaluate procure-to-pay processes, design future-state solutions and oversee vendor onboarding, master data governance and payment runs.

You will guide clients in AP process improvements, including automation and system enhancements, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with global teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.

Qualifications

• Recognised finance or procurement qualification (ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIPS or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years in a Shared Services Centre or multinational environment within P2P, AP, or R2R (AP focus).
• 2+ years in leadership or project management.
• Strong AP/R2R knowledge including PO compliance, invoice matching, vendor mgmt, payments and reconciliations.
• Experience in process improvement, controls optimisation and AP technologies.
• Advanced ERP experience, ideally SAP S/4HANA; familiarity with AP tools is a plus.
• Proficient Excel skills; exposure to Power BI/Tableau for reporting.

Qualifications

Required:

• Recognised finance or procurement qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIPS or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Shared Services Centre or multinational environment within P2P, Accounts Payable, or R2R (with an AP focus), including at least 2 years in a leadership or project management role.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes— including purchase order compliance, invoice matching, vendor management, payment processing, and reconciliations —along with knowledge of broader R2R activities.
• Proven experience in process improvement, controls optimisation, and implementation of AP technologies.
• Advanced systems expertise, particularly with SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP platforms; familiarity with tools supporting AP and reconciliation processes is a distinct advantage.
• Proficient in Excel and exposure to reporting platforms such as Power BI or Tableau, supporting performance tracking, insights generation, and preparing client-ready documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex client projects or service delivery engagements, ideally within a shared services or consulting environment.
