Job summary

WASHINGTON AGRIVENTURES AND REAL STATE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION is seeking an Animal Technician to oversee the daily care and welfare of cows and lambs, monitor health, and maintain clean facilities in accordance with biosecurity standards. You will track feed, water, production, and mortality, assist in vaccinations and transfers, and report anomalies to the Farm Supervisor. Weekend or holiday work may be required, and a high school diploma is the minimum.

Qualifications

• High School graduate required.
• Preference for vocational course or degree in animal science or agriculture.
• Knowledge of poultry health and egg production advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Feed, water, and monitor animals according to schedules.
• Collect, grade, and record daily egg production.
• Regularly check health for signs of disease, injury, or stress.
• Assist in vaccination, weighing, and transfer.
• Implement proper lighting, ventilation, and temperature control procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of poultry houses, feeders, and drinkers.
• Follow strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease.
• Disinfect tools, equipment, and work areas as required.
• Maintain accurate daily logs of feed, production, mortality, and medication.
• Report abnormalities in bird behavior, feed intake, or production to the Farm Supervisor immediately.

About the role

The Animal Technician is responsible for the daily care, monitoring, and maintenance of cow and lamb, inventory and cost of cow's babies and milk. This includes ensuring optimal animal health, productivity, cleanliness, and compliance with biosecurity and company standards.

About you

• At least a High School Graduate
• Vocational Course or Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred
• Knowledge of poultry health, feeding, and egg production systems is an advantage
• Physically fit and able to perform fieldwork
• Willing to work on weekends or holidays when needed
• Honest, dependable, and able to follow instructions accurately
