Responsibilities

Job Summary:
The Farm Veterinarian is responsible for maintaining the health, welfare, and productivity of livestock by providing veterinary care, disease prevention, treatment, and health-management programs. The role works closely with farm operations to ensure proper animal husbandry practices, biosecurity, vaccination, nutrition, and compliance with veterinary and farm-health standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular health checks and physical examinations of livestock.

• Diagnose, treat, and manage animal diseases, injuries, and health conditions.

• Develop and implement vaccination, deworming, and disease-prevention programs.

• Monitor animal health, growth, reproduction, and overall farm productivity.

• Establish and maintain proper biosecurity and disease-control protocols.

• Provide guidance to farm staff on proper animal handling, husbandry, sanitation, and welfare.

• Monitor medication and veterinary product use and maintain accurate treatment records.

• Assist in reproductive management, breeding programs, and herd/flock health programs.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) graduate

• Good diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
