Job summary

White & Case LLP is seeking a Analyst, Process Excellence to support the Practice Solutions team in executing Lean, Six Sigma, and Design Thinking projects. The role involves leading simple PD/CI projects, documenting charters, and facilitating workshops to drive operational improvements across global and local processes.

The candidate will assist in training, data analysis, and creating implementation plans, reporting to the Supervisor, Process Excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Yellowbelt Lean Six Sigma certification required.
• Certification in ISO 9001 QMS Documentation is an advantage.
• 1–3 years in Process Documentation and Continuous Improvement; fresh graduates welcome with related training.
• Design Thinking experience is an advantage.
• 1 year of project management experience.
• Advanced MS Visio skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage simple PD and CI projects from planning to completion using Lean, Six Sigma, or Design Thinking.
• Documentation, preparation, and presentation of project charter, WBS, communication plan, and kickoff deck.
• Current process performance analysis including root cause analysis, data gathering, and benchmarking.
• Coordinate with teams to obtain or create operational data and dashboards to support analysis.
• Facilitate ideation, prioritization, and future-state process mapping workshops.
• Assist process owners in presenting improvements to sponsors.
• Draft and prepare the implementation plan.
• Train, document, and deploy the improved process.
• Compute improvement gains and present handover materials.
• Project administration: maintain Actions/Issues Log and coordinate with the project team.
• Assist in executing large-scale global/local PD and CI projects from planning to completion.
• Assist in building and delivering PD and CI trainings/workshops for PI awareness programs.
• Act as subject-matter expert on process documentation and continuous improvement methodologies.

Our Practice Solutions team leads the Firm’s innovation initiatives, supporting our lawyers in client delivery excellence. The team has deep expertise in working with established and emerging technologies, data analytics and data science, knowledge solutions and process re-engineering. The Practice Solutions team works with our lawyers to identify innovative solutions to support our clients. The Analyst, Process Excellence Team supports the Firm and its management by assisting the Specialist, Process Excellence in executing process documentation and continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Design Thinking methodologies.

This position reports to the Supervisor, Process Excellence Team.

Operational:

• Lead and project manage simple global and local PD and CI projects, as necessary from planning to completion using Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Design Thinking methodologies

  • Documentation, preparation, and presentation of project charter, WBS, communication plan, and kick-off meeting deck
  • Current process performance analysis, which includes facilitation of process mapping workshops, root cause analysis, data gathering, benchmarking, and analysis of pre-existing metrics to support improvement projects
  • Coordinate and work with relevant teams in getting or creating operational data and dashboard, wherever available, to support process analysis in improvement projects
  • Facilitate in the ideation, prioritization, and future state process mapping workshops
  • Assist the process owners in the presentation of proposed improvements to project sponsors
  • Drafting and preparation of the implementation plan
  • Assist the process owners in training, process documentation, and deployment of the improved process
  • Computation of improvement gains, preparation, and presentation of handover meeting deck
  • Project Administration, which includes maintenance of Actions/Issues Log and coordination with the project team

• Assist the Process Excellence Specialist, in executing large-scale global and local PD and CI projects from planning to completion using Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Design Thinking methodologies

• Assist in building and delivery PD and CI trainings and workshops, at all levels, to support the different PI awareness programs and initiatives of the Firm, which includes, among others:

  • Process Documentation: PD Orientation, MS Visio Essentials, Process Mapping, PD Templates, and PD Library training
  • Continuous Improvement: Lean Approach for Services, Six Sigma DMAIC Methodology, Design Thinking training and workshops

• Act as a subject-matter expert on both process documentation (ISO QMS Documentation) and continuous improvement methodologies, which may include Lean, Six Sigma, and Design Thinking

Team:

• Provides regular updates on team’s performance against deliverables
• Escalate reporting issues or concerns to leadership in a timely manner
• Ensures that all assigned tasks and initiatives are delivered, maintained, and updated on time as required by the requestors
• Ensures that issues or concerns that may arise from the projects handled is addressed on time
• Assist the Supervisor, Process Excellence in project’s feedback management and reporting
• Work with the Manager in creating tactical plans for the team aligning it to the overall vision and strategies of the function and the firm objectives
• Supports the fulfillment of the team’s tactical plans in alignment to the Operational Excellence strategic objectives
• Help develop and implement global and local awareness programs, initiatives, and engagement activities to promote process documentation and continuous improvement culture in the Firm
• Maintain and improve the PD and CI trackers, process library, and PI team’s intranet site
• Keep the PI documentation up to date considering best practices in the industry
• Perform ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as required by the Firm and its management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or any related course
• Yellowbelt Lean Six Sigma Certified is required
• Certification in ISO 9001 QMS Documentation is an advantage
• 1 to 3 years of extensive work experience in Process Documentation and Continuous Improvement, which includes process mapping, documentation control and management, root cause analysis, ideation, and use of continuous improvement methodologies and tools (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma) in a shared service industry; Fresh graduate is welcome with related on-the-job training and/or successful implementation of an improvement project/study
• Knowledge or experience in executing in Design Thinking approach is an advantage
• 1 year of experience in project management
• Advanced skills in MS Visio
• Proficient in, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Project
