Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 7+ years in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
• 2-3 years leading an operations team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of air operations specialists.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues.
• Set expectations and support team growth.
• Oversee the full air shipment lifecycle from booking to final delivery.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards.
• Maintain data accuracy and timely milestone updates across systems.
• Build partnerships with airlines, terminals, and trucking providers.
• Monitor vendor performance and drive service improvements.
• Collaborate with planning, sales, customs, and destination offices for coordination.
• Oversee billing accuracy and cost control, resolving disputes.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
• Contribute to new systems and workflows development.

The Opportunity

the company is establishing its operations in the Philippines - and we're looking for a strong leader to build and run our air gateway operations in Manila. As Manager, Air Operations, you'll lead a team of operations specialists to manage end-to-end air freight shipments, ensuring cargo moves smoothly, efficiently, and on time. This is a high-impact role for an experienced operator ready to shape how the company delivers world-class air freight from the ground up.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of air operations specialists, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, ensuring fast and effective resolution

• Set clear expectations, support team growth, and help individuals perform at their best

• Oversee the full air shipment lifecycle from booking and pickup through to airline handover and final delivery

• Ensure all activities comply with the company's standards, local regulations, and international shipping requirements

• Maintain high data accuracy and timely milestone updates across the company systems to meet KPIs and SLAs

• Build and maintain strong partnerships with airlines, terminals, and trucking providers

• Monitor and review vendor performance, providing constructive feedback and solutions to improve service quality

• Collaborate closely with internal teams including planning, sales, customs, and destination offices for seamless end-to-end coordination

• Oversee billing accuracy and cost control, resolving invoice disputes promptly and effectively

• Identify workflow inefficiencies and drive process improvements that save time, reduce costs, and enhance the customer experience

• Contribute to the development and implementation of new systems, workflows, and operational best practices

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field

• 7+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations

• 2-3 years of leadership experience managing an operations team

• Strong knowledge of air export and import regulations in Cambodia

• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Mandarin is a plus

• Hands-on, process-oriented, and structured thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities

• Strategic mindset balanced with ground-floor execution ability

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills

• A compliance-first attitude - you understand the importance of operating within a heavily regulated industry

• Courage to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change when needed
