Job summary

East West Banking Corporation seeks an AI/ML and Platform Engineering Head to lead strategy, delivery, and operations of AI/ML platforms, pipelines, and data services in a hybrid Taguig environment.

You will oversee DevOps, MLOps, and DataOps, drive AI adoption, ensure secure, compliant platform services, and manage cross-functional teams for enterprise-scale data products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 12–15 years in technology leadership with 5+ years in senior/executive roles.
• Experience leading teams in regulated industries, preferably banking/FS.
• Strong expertise in AI/ML infra, cloud-native architectures, MLOps & DataOps.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms, Databricks, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability.

Our Enterprise Data team is looking for experienced professionals to join us in Taguig with the role of AI, Machine Learning and Platform Engineering Head.

In this role you will lead the strategy, delivery, and operational management of the Bank's AI/ML platforms, engineering pipelines, and data platform services, ensuring the scalability, resilience, and performance of critical systems that support enterprise-wide data science, analytics, and data product development. You will oversee DevOps, MLOps, and DataOps capabilities, drive AI/ML technology adoption and machine learning industrialization at scale, and collaborate with Data Governance, Risk, IT Operations, and Regulatory teams to deliver secure, compliant, and reliable platform services.

What The Role Will Entail

• Define and execute the strategic vision, roadmap, and delivery of AI/ML platforms and engineering capabilities to advance the organization's AI and data maturity.
• Lead the design and optimization of scalable, secure, and governed cloud-based platforms that support the full machine learning lifecycle, from development and experimentation to production deployment.
• Oversee platform operations, ensuring high availability, performance, SLA compliance, job execution reliability, and effective incident management across AI/ML and data environments.
• Drive engineering excellence through the adoption of automation, observability, CI/CD, MLOps, DataOps, and DevOps best practices to enhance platform efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with Technology, Risk, Infrastructure, Data Governance, and Data Science teams to ensure aligned delivery, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness of AI/ML initiatives.
• Build and develop high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Provide leadership on enterprise AI/ML technology adoption, enabling the industrialization and scalable deployment of data-driven solutions across the organization.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field; postgraduate studies in Technology Management, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or business leadership are an advantage.
• At least 12 to 15 years of experience in technology leadership, including at least 5 years in a senior or executive management role, with direct responsibility for cloud-based data and AI/ML platforms.
• Proven experience leading engineering, platform, and operations teams within a regulated industry, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong expertise in AI/ML infrastructure, cloud-native architectures, model lifecycle management, and the delivery of enterprise-scale MLOps and DataOps capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Databricks, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and platform performance management, with relevant industry certifications considered an advantage.
• Strong understanding of data governance, information security, regulatory frameworks, strategic planning, stakeholder management, and people leadership, with the ability to drive large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
