Job summary

East West Banking Corporation in Taguig is seeking an AI Governance Head to lead the design and implementation of the bank's AI governance framework across RPA, ML, and LLMs. You will ensure safe, ethical, explainable, and compliant use of AI in line with BSP regulations and data privacy standards, enabling scalable adoption.

Lead cross-functional collaboration with Risk, Compliance, IT, Data, Cybersecurity, and legal teams to build governance playbooks, policies, and controls; drive training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology, risk management, or related field.
• Certifications in risk, compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity, or AI ethics are a plus.
• Extensive banking, risk management, IT governance, or data governance experience.
• Knowledge of AI/ML governance and BSP regulations is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the bank's AI governance framework, policies, standards, and controls.
• Establish AI risk assessment and mitigation frameworks (model risk, bias, privacy, cybersecurity).
• Oversee AI lifecycle governance from use-case intake to deployment and monitoring.
• Define standards for model documentation, testing, explainability, and human oversight.
• Build AI governance capabilities with training, playbooks, templates, and processes.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, IT, Data, Cybersecurity, Legal, Procurement and business teams.

Our Enterprise Data team is looking for experienced professionals to join us in Taguig with the role of AI Governance Head.

In this role you will lead the design and execution of the Bank's end-to-end AI governance framework, covering RPA, machine learning, LLMs, and other AI technologies across their full lifecycle, from ideation and deployment to ongoing monitoring. You will ensure the safe, ethical, explainable, secure, and compliant use of AI in line with BSP regulations, data privacy and model risk standards, while enabling responsible and scalable adoption across the organization.

What The Role Will Entail

• Develop and maintain the Bank's AI governance framework, policies, standards, and controls covering RPA, machine learning, LLMs, and third-party AI solutions.
• Establish AI risk assessment and mitigation frameworks addressing model risk, bias, explainability, data privacy, cybersecurity, operational, and third-party risks.
• Oversee AI lifecycle governance from use-case intake and risk classification through validation, deployment approval, and post-implementation monitoring.
• Define standards for model documentation, testing, explainability, human oversight, and control mechanisms to ensure responsible AI deployment.
• Build AI governance capabilities across the organization through training, playbooks, templates, and standardized governance processes.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, IT, Data, Cybersecurity, Legal, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, manage AI-related third-party risks, and support responsible AI adoption.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in technology, data, risk management, or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage.
• Professional certifications in risk management, compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity, or AI ethics are a plus.
• Extensive experience in banking, risk management, IT governance, data governance, model risk management, or related disciplines, with exposure to AI/ML governance preferred.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies, including RPA, machine learning, and large language models, with the ability to assess associated risks and control frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of BSP regulations, the Data Privacy Act, outsourcing requirements, and model risk management principles.
• Proven track record of engaging with regulators, auditors, senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders on governance and risk matters.
