Job summary

Offshore 24/7 is seeking an experienced AI automation engineer to design and ship production automations for Australian clients from a remote setup in the Philippines. The role is independent contractor for an initial 3-month contract with ongoing month-to-month work.

You’ll work across n8n, Zapier, Power Automate and custom code to solve real business problems, with direct leadership visibility and a focus on measurable time savings.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional software development, systems integration or business automation experience.
• Have personally built and deployed production AI/LLM automations or integrations using APIs such as OpenAI, Claude or similar.
• Own end-to-end automation from requirements to deployment and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs and webhooks/event-driven integrations.
• Experience building automations using n8n, Zapier, Make, Power Automate or custom-built solutions.
• Strong written and spoken English, with ability to explain technical work clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience designing complex multi-system integrations with security and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI-powered automations and agents, integrating APIs, webhooks and middleware
• Connect business systems — Microsoft 365, CRM, rostering, finance and communication platforms — using n8n, Zapier, Make, Power Automate or custom-built solutions
• Apply AI/LLM APIs to real business problems, building in human review where full automation isn't appropriate
• Automate repetitive admin and data-processing work — reading, categorising, summarising and transferring information between systems
• Build solutions with appropriate security, privacy and access controls, including safe handling of credentials and confidential data
• Test, document and maintain what you build, including error handling, logging and monitoring
• Provide simple training and instructions to staff using the systems you develop
• Advise leadership on further opportunities to save time or reduce cost through AI and automation

Job description

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm PHT (supporting Australian business hours)

• Employment type: Independent contractor — initial 3-month contract, then ongoing month-to-month

You’ll work directly with the leadership of an established Australian services business, turning manual, repetitive processes into reliable AI-powered workflows and automations. One month that might mean building an agent that reads and categorises inbound client enquiries; the next, wiring up an integration between their CRM and finance system so nobody's re-typing the same data twice. Priorities are set fresh each month, so the work stays varied — and every project you ship is one leadership can point to as real, measurable time saved.

This suits someone who’s already built and shipped real AI-powered automations, not someone doing it for the first time.

You'll work across a broad automation and AI stack — including n8n, Zapier, Power Automate, AI APIs and custom code — solving real operational problems rather than being locked into one platform, with direct visibility to leadership on the impact of what you build. It's autonomous, varied work that keeps building your AI/automation portfolio, project by project.

What you'll do

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional software development, systems integration or business automation experience
• Have personally built and deployed production AI/LLM automations or integrations using APIs such as OpenAI, Claude or similar
• Have personally owned at least one production automation/integration from understanding the business requirement through solution design, build, testing and deployment
• Hands‑on production experience with REST APIs and webhooks/event‑driven integrations
• Hands‑on experience building production automations using at least one of n8n, Zapier, Make, Power Automate or custom‑built solutions
• Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to explain technical work clearly to non‑technical stakeholders Preferred
• Experience designing complex multi‑system integrations involving APIs, authentication, business logic, data transformation, error handling and monitoring
• Experience maintaining production automations after go‑live, including logging, troubleshooting, retries/fallbacks and reliability improvements
• Experience with AI agents, tool/function calling, structured outputs and human‑review workflows
• Experience integrating CRM, finance/accounting, rostering/workforce, Microsoft 365 or telephony/SMS systems
• Experience with OAuth, credential handling, cloud platforms and secure data handling
• Australian/international stakeholder experience
• Technical documentation and training/handover experience
