DM Consunji, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to ensure compliance with PFRS, tax regulations, and internal controls while supporting management with financial analysis, budgeting, and project cost monitoring.
The role oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end closing for construction projects, coordinating with project teams and external auditors to ensure accurate reporting and cash-flow management.
The Accounting Supervisor ensures that accounting procedures comply with applicable Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), tax regulations, company policies, and internal control requirements.
He/She assists management in financial analysis, budgeting, project cost monitoring, and other accounting-related decisions.
Oversees the day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash transactions, and other accounting functions.
Reviews accounting entries, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
Ensures that accounting transactions are properly classified, recorded, and supported by appropriate documentation.
Monitors the financial transactions and accounting records of construction projects.
Ensures that project-related costs are properly charged to the appropriate project, cost code, phase, or account.
Reviews project cost reports and analyzes actual costs against approved budgets and forecasts.
Coordinates with project managers, quantity surveyors, procurement personnel, and other concerned departments regarding project costs, billings, commitments, and financial information.
Assists in identifying unusual cost variances, errors, and potential financial control issues affecting construction projects.
Ensures that invoices are properly supported by purchase orders, contracts, delivery receipts, accomplishment reports, billing statements, and other required documents.
Ensures that payables are accurately recorded and processed within approved payment terms and company procedures.
Monitors outstanding payables and assists in maintaining appropriate cash-flow requirements.
Oversees customer and project-related billing and collection records.
Ensures that progress billings, contract billings, and other receivables are properly recorded and reconciled.
Monitors outstanding receivables and coordinates with project and commercial teams regarding collection concerns.
Prepares or reviews accounts receivable aging reports and recommends appropriate collection actions to management.
Manages the month-end and year-end accounting closing activities.
Prepares or reviews financial statements, management reports, account schedules, and other financial reports.
Ensures that general ledger accounts are reconciled and that necessary adjusting entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications are properly recorded.
Analyzes significant account movements and prepares explanations for material variances.
Ensures the timely submission of accurate financial information to management and other authorized stakeholders.
Ensures that accounting and tax-related transactions are properly documented and recorded in accordance with applicable Philippine laws and regulations.
Coordinates the preparation and timely filing of required tax returns, schedules, and supporting documents.
Monitors tax-related deadlines and ensures that appropriate records are maintained for tax compliance and audit purposes.
Coordinates with external tax consultants, auditors, and relevant government agencies when authorized by management.
Assists in addressing tax assessments, audit findings, and other regulatory requirements.
Assists management in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and project budgets.
Compares actual expenditures against approved budgets and identifies significant variances.
Provides financial analysis and reports to support project and management decision-making.
Assists in monitoring project profitability, cost trends, cash requirements, and financial performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
Relevant postgraduate education, professional certifications, or specialized training in accounting, finance, taxation, or construction/project accounting shall be an advantage.
Preferably be held by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Experience in Philippine taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance shall be preferred.
With at least 6-10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with supervisory experience.
Experience in a construction, engineering, property development, infrastructure, or real estate company is advantage.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Working knowledge of Philippine taxation and statutory accounting requirements.
Knowledge of project accounting and construction job costing.
Ability to analyze project costs, budgets, and financial variances.
Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and account reconciliation.
Strong financial reporting and month-end closing skills.
Knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures.
Ability to review and interpret contracts, purchase orders, billing documents, and other financial documentation.
