TOA Global Pty in the Philippines is hiring an Accounting Operations Generalist to support a US-based financial services client on a remote, night-shift schedule (9:00 PM–6:00 AM PHT).

You will untangle general ledgers, interface with vendors and clients, build no-code automations, and author SOPs. The role emphasizes independent problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement using AI tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of bookkeeping or accounting in a generalist role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Finance; CPA advantageous.
• Proficient with Xero and QuickBooks Online.
• Familiar with Google Workspace and Front for communications.
• Able to work autonomously in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Record and review journal entries, including intercompany transactions.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, AR, and AP accounts; assist month-end close.
• Communicate with vendors and clients to resolve issues.
• Develop SOPs and no-code automations to improve processes.
• Generate client-facing reports and perform data analysis.

As an Accounting Operations Generalist supporting a growing US-based financial services client, you will act as a sharp, self-directed problem solver on a small, dynamic team. In this versatile role, no two days look the same: you will step into ambiguous scenarios, untangle complex general ledgers, interface directly with vendors and clients, build no-code automations, and author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) from scratch. You will serve as a crucial partner bridging accounting foundations, operational execution, and process efficiency.

Your Impact

• Problem Solving & Workflow Execution: Research vague or incomplete requests independently, diagnose root causes, fix ledger discrepancies, and build clear SOPs and repeatable processes for unstandardized workflows.
• General Ledger & Accounting Operations: Record and review journal entries (including intercompany transactions), reconcile bank, credit card, AR, and AP accounts in Xero and QBO, investigate misposted transactions, and support month-end close.
• Vendor & Client Relations: Handle proactive client and vendor communication via phone and email to resolve payment disputes, verify invoice details, perform inbox triage (Front/Google Workspace), and manage bill pay operations.
• Reporting & Analytics: Pull financial data, construct performance summaries, and build client-facing reports using Syft Analytics and native accounting platforms.
• Process Enhancement & AI Integration: Utilize AI tools daily to speed up analysis and research, while spotting operational red flags, verifying billing details, and making proactive process improvement recommendations.

What You Bring

• The Experience: Minimum 4 years of solid bookkeeping or accounting experience in a generalist capacity (e.g., wearing multiple hats across small businesses, startups, fractional bookkeeping, or family offices) with experience handling intercompany balances and consolidation basics.
• The Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.
• Technical Mastery: Proven working experience with Xero and QuickBooks Online (including ledger cleanup and reconciliations); working knowledge of Google Workspace and Front, alongside AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for daily efficiency.
• The Mindset: Resourceful, autonomous problem solver with high ambiguity tolerance, sound ethical judgment to verify payments before acting, process discipline to author SOPs, and a strong drive to continuously learn and take on multi-hat responsibilities.
• Communication Prowess: Excellent spoken and written English proficiency suitable for direct client calls, vendor negotiations, and clear cross-functional stakeholder updates.
