Responsibilities

• Review and monitor daily accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of sales, purchases, inventories, and key accounts.
• Reconcile general ledger with subsidiary ledgers regularly.
• Prepare and monitor monthly importation reports and local raw materials purchase reports.
• Analyze transactions and variances in financial statement accounts.
• Maintain records for related-party transactions and ensure proper filing.
• Compile documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
• Review work of Accounting Associates and provide guidance for development.
• Supervise, coach, and support Accounting Associates.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as required.
• Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls.

The Accounting Officer is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, and preparing timely financial reports. This role supervises accounting staff, monitors financial transactions, and ensures compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Job Description:

Review and monitor daily accounting transactions and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules/working papers.

• Perform monthly reconciliations of sales, purchases, inventories, and other key accounts.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts with subsidiary ledgers on a regular basis.

• Prepare and monitor monthly importation reports and local raw materials purchase reports.

• Analyze financial transactions and monthly financial statement accounts to identify variances and discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate records and balances for related-party transactions.

• Ensure all accounting documents and recorded transactions are complete, accurate, and properly filed.

• Compile and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation for audit and reporting purposes.

• Review the work of Accounting Associates to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of assigned tasks.

• Supervise, coach, and provide guidance to Accounting Associates to support their professional development.

• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as required by management.

• Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.

• At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in General Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or trading environment.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.

• Experience in preparing financial statements and analyzing financial data.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Experience using ERP or accounting software is an advantage.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet reporting deadlines.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff is preferred.
