Job summary

Viking Cold Storage (Davao), Inc. is seeking an Accounting Officer to work closely with the Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, support staff, and ensure the accuracy of financial records during month-end close.

You will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll, assist in audits, and reinforce internal controls to ensure timely, accurate reporting. The role requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, based in Davao City.

Qualifications

• A BS Accountancy graduate with relevant coursework.
• 3–5 years experience in journal entries, AP and AR.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising accounting staff to ensure accurate workflow.

About the role

The Accounting Officer will work closely with the Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, support and evaluate accounting staff, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational continuity and supporting the preparation and review of financial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Accounting Manager in supervising and guiding accounting staff to ensure efficient and accurate workflow.
• Support the preparation, analysis, and review of financial statements and reports.
• Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Contribute to internal audits and support external audit processes.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
• Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.

About you

• A graduate of BS Accountancy or any accounting related course.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting in journal entries, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent).
