Job summary

ENGIE Services (Philippines) seeks a senior finance professional to lead accounting and reporting functions. The role covers transaction recording, fixed assets management, and month-end close processes in a fast-paced environment.

You will ensure IFRS/IAS compliance, tax filing, and strong internal controls while partnering with project teams to optimize financial performance and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required.
• Minimum 7 years in finance/accounting with managerial experience.
• Experience in IFRS/IAS and ICFR.
• Experience in fixed asset management and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Review and record financial transactions in the general ledger.
• Manage fixed asset ledger from acquisition to disposal and perform periodic counts.
• Lead month-end and year-end close including reconciliations, depreciation, impairments and revaluations.
• Prepare statutory and management financial statements and reports.
• Ensure tax compliance and timely filing of periodic taxes.
• Support audits with documentation and explanations of entries.
• Collaborate as finance business partner for projects affecting financial records.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

• Transaction Recording: Review all financial transactions (income, expenses, assets, liabilities) being recorded into the general ledger system ensuring accuracy, timeliness and completeness of the financial records.
• Fixed Assets: Manage the company's fixed asset ledger by keeping track of the asset from acquisition up to disposal. Conduct periodic physical count of Fixed Assets and reconcile with the ledger.
• Month/Year-End Close: Manage monthly and annual closing processes according to due dates. Perform bank and other account reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments, depreciation, impairments and revaluations to ensure accurate financial reporting. Verify that all accounts have reasonable and normal balances. Monitor data integrity and effectiveness of system interface. Make the necessary corrections in time for the closing of books.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and reliable financial statements and other financial reports for both for statutory and local and regional management reporting.
• Tax Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and file periodic tax returns (e.g., VAT, withholding taxes), ensure accurate tax liability recording, and timeliness of tax payment. Prepare schedules for tax audits.
• Analysis & Support: Analyze financial data to identify trends, reasonableness of account balances and financial results, provide insights, and assist other departments with accounting queries.
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS and IAS), regulatory requirements, Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and Company policies. Stay up to date with the regulations and standards. Assist in establishing, documenting, updating and cascading policies and procedures within the areas of responsibility and business activities that affect the financial records.
• Audit Support: Assist in both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for account entries and balances.
• Collaboration and Support: Review accounting procedures to improve efficiency and maintain compliance. Provide advisory and act as Finance business partner for projects affecting financial records.

Required qualifications

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant
• At least seven (7) years of working experience as Finance or Accounting
• professional, at least three (3) years in managerial capacity
• Preferably had working experience in similar industry

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

• Strong understanding of accounting and reporting standards
• Knowledgeable of applicable tax rules and reports
• Strong understanding of Order-to-cash, Procure-to-Pay Record-to-Report processes
• Ability of rationalize process flows, policies, internal controls and delegation of authority
• Ability to determine process and control gaps and lead process change initiatives
• With aptitude for learning ERP and other application systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Detailed and highly analytical
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
