MSCS Primegoods Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the finance function, oversee budgeting, and provide strategic financial insights to the executive team.

The role covers accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure IFRS compliance. You will manage the accounting department, implement policies, supervise branch accounting, ensure timely payments, receivables collection, bank reconciliations, and accurate monthly statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 5-7+ years of financial management or accounting experience with budgeting and reporting.
• Experience leading a finance team.
• Strong software skills with SAP, QuickBooks, and Excel.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and internal controls.

About the role

An Accounting Manager distributes the financial resources of a company and is responsible for the budget planning, and supports the executive management team by offering insights and financial advice that will allow them to make the best business decisions for the company. She is also accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with International Financial Reporting Standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
• Oversee the accounting operations of branch/branches, specially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
• Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
• Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
• Ensure that accounts receivables are collected promptly
• Ensure that monthly bank reconciliations are completed
• Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Issue timely and complete financial statements

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• At least 5-7 years of experience in financial management or accounting, with a proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
• Experience in managing and overseeing a finance team is required
• Strong experience with financial software and tools (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Excel)
• Solid understanding of financial principles, regulations, and industry standards
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, general accounting practices, and internal controls
• Knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and coordinating cross-functional activities
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to evaluate complex financial data and make strategic recommendations
