Job summary

Salesian Society of St. John Bosco in the Philippines seeks an experienced finance professional to oversee the work unit’s operations and budgeting.

You will supervise accounting staff, ensure accurate posting of receipts and disbursements, and prepare monthly/annual statements for audit. You will provide financial analysis and budgeting guidance to provincial leadership, coordinate with auditors, and manage cash, receivables, and payables to support informed decision making and regulatory

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and controls the operation and activities of the work unit, prepares and secures approval of the budget in support of such operations and activities.
• Supervises accounting personnel in recording and maintaining all accounting records; oversees accuracy, completeness and timeliness of posting cash receipts and disbursements.
• Reviews accounting entries to ensure correct classification of entries.
• Prepares and submits monthly and annual income statements and balance sheets to the Provincial Economer; updates books of account for audit.
• Provides financial analysis and recommendations to the Provincial Economer for review before submission to the Provincial Superior and Provincial Council.
• Provides information to cost centers on approved budgets and guidance on budget utilization; assists in monitoring the budget.
• Assists in cash management including preparation of the Cash Position Report.
• Ensures prompt issuance of accurate statements of accounts to Salesian settings.
• Monitors accounts receivable and payables and recommends actions on ageed balances.
• Certifies expenses for correctness and reasonableness; coordinates with external auditors for financial reports submitted to government regulators (BIR, SEC).
• Maintains and renews insurance coverage of institutional properties; ensures timely remittance of taxes, licenses and insurance premiums.
• Prepares the annual report to Rome in a timely manner.
• Supervises subordinate staff, provides coaching and development, and participates in collegial planning and committees.
