Job summary

Hexagon Shared Services Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to handle general accounting, month-end closing, and financial reporting in line with company policies and applicable standards.

You will use SAP/ERP and MS Excel to record, reconcile, and monitor transactions, assist in tax compliance, and coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate accounting records. The role requires at least 1 year of general accounting experience and a finance/accountancy degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/College degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in general accounting or financial accounting.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, Philippine Financial Reporting System, and related tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end closing and preparation of financial reports.
• Prepare and maintain reconciliations for bank, accounts receivable, inventory, and other accounts.
• Review, encode, and post accounting transactions and supporting documents.
• Process and monitor accounts payable, receivables, collections, deposits, and disbursements.
• Prepare journal entries and monthly adjusting entries.
• Monitor schedules for advances, fixed assets, and other accounts.
• Coordinate with Accounting, Credit & Collection, Payables, and other departments for reconciliation.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper filing of records.
• Utilize SAP/ERP and MS Excel for recording and monitoring transactions.
• Assist in tax compliance, audits, and other accounting activities.

General Description of the Position:

Responsible for general accounting functions, including recording, monitoring, reconciling and analyzing financial transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. Ensures accurate, complete, and timely accounting records in compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

List of Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with month-end closing and the preparation of financial reports.
• Prepares and maintains bank, accounts receivable, inventory, EWT, and other account reconciliations.
• Reviews, encodes, checks, and posts accounting transactions and supporting documents.
• Processes and monitors:
  • Accounts payable
  • Receivables
  • Collections
  • Deposits
  • Disbursements
• Prepares journal entries and monthly adjusting entries as required.
• Monitors and maintains schedules for advances, fixed assets, and other assigned accounts.
• Coordinates with Accounting, Credit & Collection, Payables, and other departments for account analysis and reconciliation.
• Ensures accuracy, completeness, and proper filing of accounting records and documents.
• Uses accounting systems and tools such as SAP/ERP systems, MS Excel, and other company systems for recording and monitoring transactions.
• Assists in tax compliance, audit requirements, and other accounting-related activities as assigned.
• Executes ad-hoc reconciliations, reports, and operational tasks requested by the Finance Controller to support departmental operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A graduate with a Bachelor's/College Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Business Studies/Administration/Management or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of working experience in general accounting or financial accounting gained from similar industries, accounting form or manufacturing companies.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and Philippine Financial Reporting System and related tax laws.
