Job summary

Megawide Construction Corporation is seeking an Accounting Assistant in the Philippines to ensure accuracy of accounts payable vouchers endorsed to the accounting department. You will verify invoice dates, GL accounts, and payment amounts, and ensure proper matching of materials to PO/receipts/invoices, along with project charging and subcontractor deductions.

The role requires a graduate in Business or Accounting, with strong Excel and database skills, and the ability to work independently,

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts payable vouchers endorsed to the accounting department.
• Verify invoice date aligns with VAT quarter.
• Verify correctness of GL accounts for input VAT and payables.
• Re-compute endorsed payment amounts for accuracy.
• Match purchases of materials to purchase orders, delivery receipts, and invoices.
• Verify correctness of project charging.
• Verify appropriateness of withholding tax used.
• Confirm subcontractor payments are approved by AMs and QAQC.
• Verify that charged transactions are due for payment.
• Ensure subcontractor billing is based on actual accomplishments.
• Apply proper deductions to subcontractors.

Megawide is currently seeking an innovative and results-driven Accounting Assistant who will ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounts payable vouchers endorsed to the accounting department by ensuring the following:

• The invoice date for the supplier is within the quarter when VAT is claimed.

• Verify the correctness of the GL account used, particularly for input VAT and payable accounts.

• Verify the correctness of the amount endorsed for payment by performing a re computation.

• Ensure purchases of materials are matched to purchase orders, delivery receipts, and invoices.

• Verify the correctness of project charging.

• Ensure the appropriateness of withholding tax used.

• Confirm that payments to subcontractors were approved by the AMs and QAQC.

• Verify that the transaction being paid is due.

• Ensure subcontractor billing is based on actual accomplishments.

• Ensure proper deductions to subcontractors are considered.
