Job summary

Offshore MVP is seeking a skilled accounting professional in the Philippines to handle journals, AP/AR, and month-end reporting. You will maintain the chart of accounts, manage rebates, and support payroll and audits.

The role requires 1–3 years in bookkeeping, GST/BAS knowledge, and strong Excel. You will work across brands, sites, and OEM programs to ensure accurate financial reporting and cash management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Commerce.
• 1–3 years in bookkeeping covering general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Working knowledge of GST and BAS preparation.
• Strong Excel skills, particularly in reconciliations, lookups, pivot tables.
• Demonstrated accuracy, strong follow-through and comfort in chasing money owed.

Responsibilities

• Post and review journals in the DMS and accounting system, including accruals, prepayments and inter-entity entries.
• Reconcile bank, floorplan, vehicle stock, contracts in transit, finance & insurance and warranty control accounts weekly.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and departmental allocations across brands and sites.
• Process supplier invoices, match to POs/ROs, and prepare creditor payment runs.
• Manage debtors: fleet and trade customers, payouts, insurance and warranty claims; chase settlements.
• Complete month-end close by working day 5 and prepare P&L and balance sheet; explain variances.
• Prepare OEM rebates, holds and claims, and lodge rebates monthly.
• Maintain rolling cash forecast and report cash position; monitor floorplan usage and working capital risks.
• Support payroll and year-end audits with external accountant; drive process improvements.

Job description

• Reconcile bank, floorplan, vehicle stock (new, demo, used), contracts in transit, finance & insurance (f&l) and warranty control accounts weekly.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and departmental allocations (new, used, service, parts, F&I) across brands and sites.

Accounts Payable:

• Process supplier invoices, original OEM statements and sublet/parts creditors; match to Purchase Orders (POs) and Repair Orders (ROs).
• Prepare weekly creditor payment runs for approval; resolve supplier queries and statement differences.

Accounts Receivable:

• Manage debtors: fleet and trade customers, finance company payouts, insurance and warranty claims.
• Chase contracts in transit to settlement; keep aged debtors under 30 days wherever possible.
• Post receipts and keep customer deposits reconciled to deal files.

Month-End Reporting:

• Complete month-end close by working day 5.
• Prepare departmental and brand-level profit & loss (P&Ls) and the balance sheet; compare to budget and prior year and explain variances.
• Prepare OEM financial statements (dealer composites) on time and to each brand's format.
• Prepare BAS workpapers: Goods and Services Tax (GST), Luxury Car Tax (LCT) and Pay As You Go (PAYG) withholding.

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Rebates, Incentives and Claims:

• Maintain a register of every OEM program: volume bonuses, CI and retail targets, holdback, demo support, stock-ageing and run-out support.
• Track eligibility against VFACTS registrations and deliveries; flag targets at risk early.
• Lodge and reconcile warranty, co-op marketing and PDI claims; follow up rejections and short payments.
• Accrue rebates each month so the profit & loss (P&Ls) reflects earned (not received) income.

Cashflow and Working Capital:

• Maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast covering floorplan curtailments, OEM receipts, payroll and creditor runs.
• Monitor floorplan facility usage, interest cost and aged stock by brand.
• Report weekly cash position and working-capital risks to the Financial Controller.

Other:

• Support payroll and commission calculations, audits and year-end with the external accountant.
• Improve processes and controls as the group adds brands and sites.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or Commerce.
• 1–3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role covering general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Working knowledge of GST and BAS preparation.
• Strong Excel skills, particularly in reconciliations, lookups, pivot tables.
• Demonstrated accuracy, strong follow-through and comfort in chasing money owed.

Nice-To-Haves:

• Working towards a Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant qualification.
• Automotive dealership experience, including floorplan, OEM statements and incentive programs.
• Experience with a dealer management system (e.g., Pentana, ERA, Autosoft) and Xero or MYOB.
• Understanding of LCT, FBT and multi-entity reporting.
