Job summary

Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility, part of BYD Aftersales, seeks a skilled BYD General Repair Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics and repair on BYD vehicles using established safety standards.

You will join the BYD Aftersales Retail Team and contribute to high-quality service, with focus on customer satisfaction and technical excellence in a fast-growing EV environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI/NCVT/ITC or equivalent technical qualification.
• 2–3 years of experience as Automotive/Diagnostic/General Repair Technician.
• EV or hybrid vehicle experience is an advantage.
• UAE driving license is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on BYD vehicles.
• Follow EV safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain Fix It Right and First-Time-Right standards.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and support Electronic Vehicle Check reporting.

Overview of the role

What you will do

• Carry out maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on BYD vehicles
• Perform repairs in line with EV safety standards and manufacturer guidelines
• Ensure Fix It Right and First-Time-Right repair standards are achieved
• Conduct vehicle inspections and support Electronic Vehicle Check reporting
• Follow workshop safety, quality, and 5S standards
• Meet productivity and utilization targets
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to resolve technical issues
• Maintain a clean and professional workshop environment

Required skills to be successful

• Strong technical and mechanical skills
• Experience in diagnostics, maintenance, and vehicle repairs
• Good understanding of automotive systems and repair processes
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
• Ability to follow workshop manuals and service procedures
• Good communication skills in English
• Passion for learning new technologies and EV systems
