Job summary

BSL is seeking a Tool Store/Tooling Technician to manage the acceptance, storage, release and disposal of tools in the central storage area. You will ensure proper identification, recording, and monitoring of tooling with unique serial numbers and maintain accurate condition labeling and documentation.

The role requires awareness of calibration processes, stock management, and collaboration with maintenance teams to ensure seamless tool availability and continuous improvement.

• Requires general product knowledge of tooling types and competency within own technical/subject area.
• Awareness of how the service integrates with maintenance users to achieve defined service levels.
• Awareness of how the team integrates with others to achieve objectives and continuous improvement.
• Understanding personal limitations and skill boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Manage acceptance, storage, release and disposal of tools into/out of central storage area.
• Register, identify and monitor tooling/equipment with a unique serial/identification number.
• Track and record tool usage with condition statements, labeling and related documentation; manage tool tallies/labels.
• Check incoming deliveries against orders with certification and maintenance/operation documentation; ensure packaging is fit for purpose.
• Schedule timely inspection, servicing and calibration; notify Leaders when calibration exceeds limits.
• Remove surplus or redundant tooling/equipment from maintenance environment; quarantine or dispose and update tracking system; place unserviceable tool tally if discovered.
