Zohorecruit in Oman is seeking a Stores Controller to manage receipt, storage, and issue of aircraft parts, tools, and materials to support maintenance and operations.

You will record all items in the inventory system, maintain tool control, and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. A diploma with 3+ years in stores is required; aviation qualifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or high school certification with 3+ years in materials & stores.
  • Aviation, logistics, warehouse inventory qualifications are a plus.
  • Training in aircraft materials, stores management, tool control, or aviation safety preferred.

  • Issue materials to Maintenance against approved requests and work orders.
  • Maintain tool control program and verify toolbox contents before/after maintenance.
  • Conduct regular stores audits, cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies.

Job description

The Stores Controller is responsible for the effectivecontrol, receipt, storage, preservation, issuance, and movement of tools,equipment, aircraft materials, components, spare parts, and associated supplieswithin the Technical Stores. The role ensures that materials are accuratelyrecorded, properly identified, stored, and readily available to supportscheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities and operational requirements.The Stores Controller is also responsible for maintaining inventory and tool-controlaccuracy, ensuring compliance with approved storage and handling procedures,and supporting the timely availability of serviceable materials whilemaintaining full compliance with applicable aviation regulations, companyprocedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, identify, and process incoming aircraftparts, materials, components, and supplies in accordance with approvedprocedures and applicable documentation requirements.
  • Ensure all materials received are accurately recorded in theinventory management system, including part numbers, serial numbers, batchnumbers, quantities, shelf-life information, and applicable certification ortraceability documentation.

  • Ensure serviceable, unserviceable, quarantine, rejected, andother controlled materials are properly identified, segregated, and stored toprevent unauthorized use or issue.
  • Issue and deliver aircraft materials, components, tools, andconsumables to Maintenance and other authorized users against approvedrequests, work orders, pick slip, or other authorized documentation.
  • Monitor and control the movement of materials within andbetween Stores locations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded andfully traceable.
  • Maintain and administer an effective Tool Control Program,with particular emphasis on the control and accountability of toolboxes,ensuring all tools are properly identified, recorded, issued, returned, andaccounted for at all times.
  • Ensure toolbox contents are controlled against approved toolinventories or tool lists and conduct regular checks to verify that all toolsare present, serviceable, and correctly accounted for before and aftermaintenance activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective procedures to prevent toolsfrom being misplaced, lost, or inadvertently left behind on an aircraftfollowing maintenance activities. Any missing tool shall be immediatelyidentified, reported, investigated, and escalated in accordance with approvedsafety and maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance personnel to ensure toolbox andtool accountability checks are completed before aircraft release or completionof applicable maintenance tasks, supporting the prevention of FOD andtool-related incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of tool issuance, returns,transfers, missing tools, damaged tools, and toolbox discrepancies, ensuringfull traceability and accountability.
  • Conduct periodic tool and toolbox audits, spot checks, andphysical inventories to verify compliance with the Tool Control Program andidentify discrepancies or opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regularcycle counts, stock checks, and physical inventory activities. Investigate andreport discrepancies and support timely corrective actions.
  • Monitor shelf-life, expiry dates, storage conditions, andpreservation requirements for applicable materials and initiate appropriateaction to prevent deterioration, expiry, or loss of usability.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Material Planning, Procurement,Quality, Engineering, and other relevant departments to resolve materialavailability issues, inventory discrepancies, documentation deficiencies, andother Stores-related matters.
  • Support the timely identification and escalation of criticalmaterial shortages, urgent/AOG requirements, discrepancies, and delays that mayaffect maintenance activities or aircraft operational readiness.
  • Ensure that aircraft parts and materials are handled,packaged, preserved, and transported in accordance with manufacturerrequirements, applicable regulations, and company procedures.
  • Verify and maintain the required documentation andtraceability records for aircraft materials, including authorized releasecertificates, certificates of conformity, delivery documentation, and otherapplicable records.
  • Support the identification, control, and management ofexcess, surplus, slow-moving, non-moving, obsolete, and scrap materials inaccordance with approved company procedures.
  • Ensure proper control and timely processing of returnedmaterials, including serviceable returns, unused materials, unserviceablecomponents, and items removed from aircraft or maintenance activities.
  • Support the quarantine and investigation process formaterials with suspected defects, discrepancies, damaged packaging, incorrectdocumentation, or other non-conformities, ensuring such items are appropriatelycontrolled until disposition.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, organization, security, andsafety standards within all Stores areas and ensure materials are stored in amanner that prevents damage, contamination, deterioration, or unauthorizedaccess.
  • Operate and use Stores equipment, material handlingequipment, and inventory management systems safely and in accordance withapproved procedures and training requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of Stores reports and supply chainperformance data, including inventory accuracy, shortages, discrepancies,transaction backlogs, AOG requirements, shelf-life control, and other relevantKPIs.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, inspections,stock checks, and regulatory or quality assessments, providing required recordsand supporting the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in Stores processes,inventory accuracy, material handling, storage efficiency, and service levels,and participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure all Stores activities comply with applicable aviationregulations, company policies and procedures, quality standards, safetyrequirements, and approved material handling and inventory control practices.
Requirements
  • Diploma/High school certificate with 3+ years of experiencein Materials & Stores.
  • Relevant aviation, logistics, warehouse, or inventorymanagement qualifications and professional certifications will be considered anadvantage.
  • Training or certification in aircraft materials, storesmanagement, tool control, or aviation safety is preferred.
