Job summary
Schneider Electric is seeking a Substation Automation & SCADA Engineer to deliver installation, commissioning, and support for SAS and SCADA systems on utility projects. You will work with IEC 61850, IED integration, and gateway configurations, ensuring reliable communication networks across critical infrastructure.
You’ll configure SCADA databases, alarms, and control schemes, participate in FAT/SAT, and document test results while coordinating with clients and project teams to ensure smooth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/automation engineering or equivalent.
- 5–8 years of hands-on Substation Automation, SCADA, RTU and power system automation experience.
- Experience on Utility, Transmission, Distribution, Data Center, Oil & Gas, or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills.
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, configure, and commission Substation Automation Systems (SAS).
- Configure and integrate SCADA, RTU, HMI, and gateways.
- Perform IEC 61850 engineering, IED integration, GOOSE, and MMS communications.
- Develop and configure SCADA databases, alarms, and control schemes.
- Execute FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Perform signal mapping, point-to-point testing, and communication testing.
- Integrate protection relays, meters, and IEDs.
- Prepare technical documentation including FDS, I/O lists, network drawings, and test reports.
- Troubleshoot IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870‑5‑104 networks.
- Interface with clients, consultants, utilities, and project teams.
- Support operational and maintenance activities for critical power infrastructure.
