Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited is seeking a seasoned Stores & Logistics professional in Oman to manage materials receipt, inventory control, and dispatch for EPC/fabrication yard projects. You will coordinate with QA/QC, ensure proper storage, and oversee documentation in SAP ERP while driving compliance and safety.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent planning, and hands-on experience with warehouse operations and SAP MM modules to support large-scale offshore or refinery-related projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse/inventory management for large-scale projects.
• Proficient with SAP/ERP inventory systems.
• Knowledge of fabrication yard materials, welding consumables, structural steel, piping and electrical materials.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt of materials from vendors and project sites and verify quantity, specs, packing lists and delivery docs.
• Maintain optimum stock levels and monitor inventory movement to prevent stock-outs or excess inventory.
• Ensure proper storage, tagging, and preservation of materials and maintain stores layout for accessibility and traceability.
• Issue materials per MRN and maintain documentation for movement and transfers; coordinate dispatches to production areas and subcontractors.
• Update inventory transactions in ERP/SAP; maintain inward/outward and stock registers; generate inventory reports and MIS.
• Support internal and external audits; investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions; ensure compliance with HSE and inventory guidelines.
• Supervise storekeepers, assistants and warehouse personnel; allocate daily activities and monitor performance; promote housekeeping and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Materials Receipt & Inspection

• Coordinate receipt of materials from vendors and project sites.
• Verify quantity, specifications, packing list, and delivery documents.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and user departments for material inspection and acceptance.

Inventory Management

• Maintain optimum stock levels of consumables and project materials.
• Monitor inventory movement and prevent stock-outs or excess inventory.
• Conduct periodic stock verification and reconciliation.

Storage & Preservation

• Ensure proper storage, preservation, tagging, and identification of materials.
• Maintain stores layout for easy accessibility and traceability.
• Ensure safe handling and preservation of critical materials and consumables.

Material Issue & Dispatch

• Issue materials as per approved Material Requisition Notes (MRN).
• Maintain proper documentation for material movement and transfers.
• Coordinate dispatch of materials to production areas and subcontractors.

Documentation & System Management

• Update all inventory transactions in ERP/SAP systems.
• Maintain inward, outward, and stock registers.
• Generate inventory reports, stock statements, and management MIS reports.

Audit & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company procedures, HSE requirements, and inventory control guidelines.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Investigate material discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Team Management

• Supervise storekeepers, assistants, and warehouse personnel.
• Allocate daily activities and monitor performance.
• Promote housekeeping and safety within stores operations.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of warehouse and inventory management practices.
• Experience in SAP/ERP-based inventory systems.
• Knowledge of fabrication yard materials, welding consumables, structural steel, piping, and electrical materials.
• Good coordination, planning, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting tools.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Experience

• GCC/Oman experience in fabrication yard or EPC projects.
• Experience in large-scale offshore modules, oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or shipyard projects.
• Familiarity with SAP MM module and material traceability requirements.
