Job summary

Tronox Limited in Oman is seeking a hands-on plant operator to ensure safe, stable production and high-quality outputs. You will monitor process parameters, log data, and support maintenance activities while adhering to SOPs and safety standards.

The role requires collaboration across shifts and a proactive approach to problem solving. You will participate in incident investigations, use IT systems for reporting, and ensure proper handovers to maintain continuous plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs for startup/shutdown to ensure safe, stable operations.
• Ensure detailed shift handovers to maintain process continuity.
• Operate plant/equipment without guidance (e.g. field, DCS).
• Collect and deliver in-process samples for laboratory analysis.
• Participate and assist team members with tasks.

Role Definition

Takes accountability for SQLCST (Safe Quality Low Cost Sustainable Tons) for their post / work-station. Performs a range of activities in more than one area using complicated equipment. Monitors the operation so that the product quality and inventory is maintained. Provides coaching and guidance in order to develop technical expertise within the company.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain safe and optimal conditions, ensuring smooth and stable operations.
• Prepares equipment for maintenance.
• Enters data accurately and promptly into the shift logsheet, logbook and Control Room system (e.g. SIC).
• Perform thorough and timely plant rounds to identify issues with plant/equipment and ensure safe, and stable operations.
• Raise maintenance job request in system as applicable.
• Detect and report process deviations promptly, using A3 investigation for process problems.
• Participates in incident investigations.
• Utilizes IT systems for reporting and data gathering.
• Follows & Perform all normal and emergency start-up and shutdown tasks strictly according to the approved SOP to ensure safe, stable, and error-free operations.
• Ensures all shift handover requirements are well detailed, easy to understand and ensure continuity of plant/process performance is maintained.
• Operates plant/equipment without guidance (e.g. field, localized DCS).
• Collects and delivers in process samples for laboratory analysis.
