Job summary

Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG in Oman seeks an experienced Sr. Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial activities on heavy projects. You will handle valuations, final accounts and contract changes while coordinating with project teams and clients.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of post-qualification experience in oil & gas or EPC sectors, with strong Excel/Word skills and robust negotiation abilities. Oman-based, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience in oil & gas, EPC, construction, engineering or maintenance contracts.
• Strong post-contract quantity surveying and commercial management experience.
• Experience in monthly valuations, measurements, re-measurements and final accounts.
• Knowledge of variations, claims, disputes, rate analysis and price escalation.
• Experience in reviewing BOQ, MTO/BOM and contract changes.
• Good commercial and contractual understanding.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and related computer applications.
• Strong communication, coordination and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate quantity surveying activities and site measurements.
• Prepare monthly valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor claims and commercial submissions.
• Monitor quantities, materials, labour and plant records against contract requirements.
• Support cost estimation and commercial reporting.
• Review BOQs, MTOs/BOMs and changes during engineering and construction stages.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, clients and consultants on commercial matters.
