Job summary

NTG is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to work on-site in Muscat. The role focuses on building custom cloud native services, scaling beyond low code limitations. Candidates should have experience in modern JVM development, microservices, and containerization with Kubernetes.

Key responsibilities involve designing Java microservices, integrating REST APIs, and writing observable production-grade code. A Bachelor's in Computer Science or related is required, along with fluency in English. Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

We are hiring a Senior Java Engineer, on site in Muscat, to build the custom, cloud native services beyond the reach of low code.

What you'll do

Build the high code services that pick up where low code leaves off.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud native Java microservices for the platform's custom, high code core
• Build reactive, event driven services where throughput and resilience demand it
• Expose clean, well defined REST APIs and integrate with platform and data services
• Use modern JVM tooling and GraalVM native images for fast startup and a small footprint
• Containerize and ship services on Kubernetes through automated pipelines
• Write testable, observable, production grade code, with metrics and tracing built in
• Take on the hard Back End problems that low code cannot reach
• Contribute reusable services and patterns, and mentor engineers around them

What makes you a fit

• You have built and run cloud native Java services in production at scale
• You know modern JVM development, microservices, and containerized deployment cold
• You have worked with reactive or event driven services, or GraalVM native images, or you are keen to
• You design clean APIs and care about performance, footprint, and resilience
• You write code that is tested, observable, and built to last
• You hold a Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• You collaborate well and raise the engineering bar around you
• Bonus points for government or large scale enterprise Back End work
• Fluent English required; Arabic is a valuable advantage
