Job summary

NTG is seeking a Senior Platform & Site Reliability Engineer to maintain the sovereign Kubernetes platform in Muscat. You'll deploy and operate systems ensuring reliability for crucial services and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has extensive Kubernetes experience, strong automation skills, and a passion for service reliability. Responsibilities include managing both deployment and Day 2 operations, ensuring a stable platform for teams across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying, upgrading, and operating production Kubernetes clusters.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a valuable advantage.
• Experience with on-prem, regulated, or government infrastructure is a plus.

• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and operate the enterprise Kubernetes platform.
• Manage Day 2 operations including patching and version upgrades.

Job description

Own the sovereign Kubernetes platform every team ships on, such as Red Hat OpenShift: deploy it, upgrade it, keep it always on, and build the paved roads that let teams move fast.

We are hiring a Senior Platform & Site Reliability Engineer, on site in Muscat, to deploy, operate, and keep reliable the sovereign platform every other team ships on.

What you'll do

Own the container platform end to end, from cluster lifecycle to the paved roads teams ship on.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and operate the enterprise Kubernetes platform, such as Red Hat OpenShift, that every service runs on, including control plane, cluster operators, networking, and storage integration
• Own Day 2 cluster operations: patching, version upgrades, capacity, health, and multi cluster management as the platform scales
• Stand up an internal developer platform with golden path templates teams can self‑serve
• Automate everything as infrastructure as code, and enforce guardrails with policy as code
• Own the CI, CD, and GitOps pipelines, and secure the software supply chain with signing, SBOMs, and SLSA aligned controls
• Define and defend reliability targets: SLOs, error budgets, capacity, and incident response
• Stand up deep observability across metrics, logs, traces, and modern eBPF based tooling
• Engineer for a sovereign, on‑prem, sometimes air‑gapped environment, partnering with infrastructure and security

• You automate by reflex: infrastructure as code, GitOps, policy as code, and self‑service over tickets
• You think in SLOs and error budgets, and you would rather prevent an incident than fight one
• You care about software supply chain security, signing, and SBOMs, not just shipping
• You are at home where the cloud is sovereign and on‑prem, not a managed service away
• You hold a Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on depth
• You stay calm when things break, and you write the runbook afterward
• Bonus points for on‑prem, regulated, or government infrastructure experience
• Fluent English required; Arabic is a valuable advantage
