Job summary

Codevative is seeking an experienced backend Java developer to design, implement, and maintain microservices and APIs for core banking functions. You will optimize SQL/NoSQL databases, integrate with payment gateways, and ensure security and regulatory compliance across the stack.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable banking software, write comprehensive tests, and mentor junior developers while adhering to CI/CD practices and cloud/containerization standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional backend Java development experience in banking/financial services.
• Proven expertise in Java-based microservices and RESTful APIs for high-volume transactions.
• Deep understanding of financial transaction processing, core banking systems, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) for asynchronous banking communications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices and APIs for core banking functionalities.
• Implement and optimize SQL/NoSQL databases ensuring data integrity and security.
• Integrate with third-party financial services and internal banking platforms.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests for reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, business, and product teams to deliver banking solutions.
