Job summary

STRABAG in Dubai seeks an experienced Procurement Officer to lead sourcing of construction materials for major infrastructure projects across the UAE. You will evaluate quotations, verify technical compliance, and secure best commercial terms while coordinating with project teams, engineers, and quantity surveyors.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Procurement background, 5+ years UAE experience, and strong knowledge of local supplier networks, material specs, and ERP/procurement software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years' procurement experience in UAE construction, particularly infrastructure/road/highway/utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE suppliers, materials markets, and technical specification verification.
• Understanding of construction drawings and project requirements.
• Proficient in Excel, ERP, and procurement software.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services required for infrastructure and road construction projects.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors across the UAE.
• Verify that proposed materials comply with project specifications, technical requirements, and client standards.
• Coordinate with project teams, engineers, and quantity surveyors to understand procurement requirements.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and commercial terms to achieve the best value for the company.
• Continuously monitor market prices and maintain up-to-date knowledge of material cost trends and supplier capabilities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors throughout the UAE.
• Issue purchase orders and monitor delivery performance to ensure project requirements are met.
• Identify alternative suppliers and materials to support value engineering and cost
• Support tendering and estimation teams by providing current market pricing and supplier information.

• Supplier/stakeholder management, cost control, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
